Xavier School was founded in 2008 and is managed by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus, popularly known as the Jesuits. The Society of Jesus is a Catholic Religious Order Founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540 in Rome and has been active in the field of education throughout the world since its origin. Xavier School is named after St. Francis Xavier, the first Jesuit who came to India in 1545. The Society of Jesus is at present responsible for more than 150 schools and colleges in India, where 215000 young people belonging to every social status, community and linguistic groups are being educated. Xavier School, Manvi is a Religious Minority Institution administered by members of Catholic Christian Community.
Though primarily intended to impart Catholic Education to Catholic Children, the school is open to all without distinction of caste, creed, color or language. Xavier School comes under the management of the North Karnataka Jesuit Educational and Charitable Society (R) Mundgod, North Canara District. The President of the Governing Body is Rev. Fr. Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province.
